Andy Reid, the head coach of the Kansas City Chiefs, is an expert in football. He has some experience as a father as well.
In a social media post on Monday, Patrick and Brittany Mahomes revealed the arrival of their third child. Golden Raye Mahomes, the couple’s second daughter, was born on Sunday, January 12.
Patrick Lavon III, also known as Bronze, is their 2-year-old son.
Mahomes, who has three children under three, told reporters on Tuesday that he is OK with the size of his family “for right now,” but Reid had a different take on the matter.
“Yeah, I think he does great with it,” Reid said when asked how the veteran quarterback is handling fatherhood. “He came in as Patrick 2pm, now he’s Patrick 3pm.”
Reid, a father of five, however, feels that the more, the better.
“Once you have three, four and five are easy. That’s what I told him,” Reid said with a smile. “You’ve made three, you add a couple more, we’ll talk.”
But right now, Mahomes’ attention is undoubtedly on the playoffs.
In their quest for a historic third consecutive championship, the Chiefs will take on the Houston Texans on Saturday in the divisional round, which will be held at Arrowhead Stadium.
“I think every year is special,” Mahomes said. “Obviously, you want to win three in a row and build those memories with the guys and the community. But every single year is special. And when I look back at all the different Super Bowls that we’ve won, I look back at special moments that we’ve had and special games that we’ve had. And so, we’ll try to do the same this year.”
With a bye as the top seed, the Chiefs are well-rested going into Saturday’s game.
